Oh the shock of it- I'm wearing pants!
Fridays makes things a little more casual in my opinion, which may sound ridiculous to some of you but in my book it means not wearing a skirt.
Accessories are so important to me(if you haven't already worked that out!) and I can't leave the house without having my fingers, at least one wrist, and my ears adorned with jewellery.

All through the long winter, I dream of my garden. On the first day of spring, I dig my fingers deep into the soft earth. I can feel its energy, and my spirits soar.

from: Random Knits - Donna
Thursday, 3rd Jul, 2008 19:48:09
Well, after a full weekend of nothing but knitting, (and frogging, but lets not speak of that!), there has been no knitting on the Casa del Random front.Monday was kinda busy, with canteen duty at school and general catch up after being away all weekend. Tuesday morning, first thing, I had am impacted wisdom tooth removed. I knew it was going to be bad, but I had no idea it was going to be that ba

Have you ever wondered what butterflies eat? They actually don't eat anything. They drink nectar from flowers and that's it.

Okay so that's my sad attempt at linking this post to this month's NaBloPoMo's food theme. hehe

Anyway, if you haven't seen in already, check out this fantastic post from Danni at The Butterfly Effect: "She's just a cute Tween...but she grows into a curvy Teen!"

Wool soakers

I use a combination of these nappies and basic flannel squares covered with a snib on Heidi. Only now she's growing out of the snibs i've had since she was born and they're starting to fall apart. So, rather than buy more plastic snibs i decided to knit woollen soakers instead.

I found this pattern after a few hours searching the web. The Punk Knitter's pattern is super easy an

"Knitting Head"

from: Bellsknits - Bells
Thursday, 3rd Jul, 2008 16:42:00
That's what my nephew Willem called me last night when I sat down to knit in the evening. He laughed and said, 'Aunty Bells, you're a Knitting Head.'

Ah yes, Will. I am. And I rather like the title! He seems to have pretty much figured out that knitting is what I do.

And while we're on cute things, my mum sent me this photo a short while ago. He is visiting her today and she made him an apron an

In conjunction with the 2008 Next Wave Festival in Melbourne, Craft Victoria was pleased to be able to co-host Carly Preston's Paper Wall, a foray into 'craft in the public space' and a discussion on the relationship between interior and traditional craft methods.

We roped Carly into posting about her process:

Have You Seen This Doll? Irene, designed and embroidered by Mym, recently stolen from a storage shed during a house renovation in Balaclava, Melbourne. The thief in question is most likely a dealer (name withheld, as we have no proof). He went through the shed at his leisure, and only took the really valuable stuff, the things that had been in my friend Gillian's family for three generations. He also stole Gill's teddy (m

Installation day today. Very weird to see a whole show packed into a wicker basket. It seems so unsubstantial! The ladies of HML are real wizzes at putting up a show - we go for the 'just wack 'em up there' random hang that leaves plenty of time for tea and scones - mind you today we'll be in prahran
which is one of those places we get to once every three years so it'll be fun t
